Coca-Cola Ham 1 whole ham, scored 1 cup brown sugar 1 can pineapple chunks 1 jar candied cherries 1 liter of Coke Pat fat side with 1/2 cup brown sugar Place chunks of pineapple and whole candied cherries, alternately, in the scored areas Pour Coke over ham slowly Sprinkle remaining brown sugar over ham Bake at 325 degrees |
Southern Belle Salad 1 16 ounce can dark pitted cherries 1 3-ounce package cherry gelatin 1 cup Coke 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice 1 3-ounce package cream cheese (low fat's okay) 1/2 cup cut up walnuts Drain, but save, juice from cherries Bring 3/4 cup of juice to boiling, add gelatin, stir until dissolved, stir in coke and lemon juice Chill until gelatin mounds slightly, cut cream cheese into very small pieces Fold cream cheese, nuts and whole cherries into gelatin Spoon into 6 individual molds Chill until firm |
Easy Low-Fat Cola Cake 1 box of regular or low-fat cake mix (chocolate, white or cherry mix) 1 12-ounce can of diet or regular Coke Mix per directions on box, substituting Coke for water Bake as directed Frosting: Mix together an 8-ounce tub of low-fat Cool Whip and 1 package sugar-free, fat-free pudding mix. |
Barbecue Sauce 2 medium onions 3/4 cup Coke 3/4 cup catsup 2 tablespoons vinegar 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce 1/2 teaspoon chili powder 1/2 teaspoon salt Shred or blender chop onions, combine all ingredients and bring to a boil, cover pan, reduce heat and simmer 45 minutes, stirring occasionally, until sauce is thick. |
Coca-Cola Cake 2 cups plain unsifted flour 2 cups sugar 2 sticks margarine 1 cup Coca-Cola 1/2 cup buttermilk 2 beaten eggs 1 teaspoon baking soda 1 teaspoon vanilla 3 tablespoons cocoa Combine flour and sugar. Heat margarine, Coke and cocoa to boiling point; pour over flour mixture. Mix baking soda into milk, then add this, the eggs and vanilla to the batter. Bake in greased 9x13 pan at 350 degrees for 30 - 35 minutes. Make frosting while cake is baking. Frosting: 1 stick butter 6 tablespoons Coca-Cola 1 lb. powdered sugar 3 tablespoons cocoa 1 cup chopped nuts Combine butter, Coke and cocoa to boiling point. Pour over sugar and mix well, then stir in nuts. Pour over hot cake and spread. |
