Barn Quilts |
Travel some of America's country roads and you'll find a growing trend of barn quilt displays: barns displaying colorful painted quilt blocks. In fact, there are towns where these displays can be found everywhere, on public buildings and private residences alike. This has resulted in Quilt Trails, with local chambers of commerce or quilting clubs supplying maps of locations of "quilted" barns and buildings. In my search for photos of barns with quilt art, I found examples in the Midwestern, Mid-Atlantic and Southern regions of the country, with Ohio, Wisconsin, Iowa, North Carolina and Kentucky outnumbering other states for organized Quilt Trails. -- Nancy |
