Just  for Today
These images are from St. Petersburg, Russia.  When I was searching for photos for this
page, I ran across the travel diary of an American who has visited St. Petersburg several
times.  One of the things he said about the city and its people gave me the page's theme.
He wrote:  "This city has surprised me.  It is a city that was surrounded by Nazi troops
for three years and milions starved, many of them to death.  Stalin purged the city many
times.  Seventy years of Communism tried to grind the city down.  But you don't feel it.
It's gone.  A Russian friend said that Russians don't focus on the past, life is just about
today.  They endure, survive and live life with a positive attitude.   It must be true.
When I walk the streets of St. Petersburg, I sense the energy of love and happiness, the
energy of people living their lives with joy...thinking about today."
Just for today...

Do not be angry,
Do not worry,
Be grateful,
Work with diligence,
Be kind to people.

-- Mikao Usui
Just for today . . .

May there be peace within.

May you trust that you are where you are meant to be.

May you focus, not on yesterday or tomorrow, but only on today.

May you be content with yourself just the way you are.

May you use the gifts that you have received and
share the love that has ben given to you.

May you not forget the infinite possibilities that
are born of faith in yourself and others.

May you let this knowledge settle into your heart and soul.

Just for today.
