The Old Jax Brewery:  Today and Yesterday
The old brewhouse stood watch over the Mississippi River long before it became an upscale mall of shops, stores, cafes, restaurants and kiosks.  Constructed in 1891, the Jax Brewery was once the largest brewery in the South and the tenth largest single-plant brewery in the country.

Today, its upper decks are a river-watcher's dream come true.  With the Mississippi River on one side and the heart of the French Quarter on the other, as its website so aptly says...it's no longer a brewery, but the view is still intoxicating!
