Pieced Together
Instead of just one place, this page will take us to 25 places - half of the
50 states in the U.S.  The remaining 25 states are on page 2, "Between
You and Me."  That link can be found at the bottom of the page.

The title of the page comes from a quote by D. H. Lauderfield:  "The
United States reminds me of one of my grandmother's quilts - the
individual pieces are interesting on their own, but pieced together,
a beautiful pattern emerges and the result is quite impressive."

Photo at the top of the page is from Menifee County, Kentucky.

Sleek winding lengths of watered silk
Draw ribbons through the hills,
Where waterfalls of crystal spray
Spill effervescent frills.

The rippling silver streaks flow free
With trim of lacy froth
To tie rich gifts of meadow gems
In yards of jade green cloth.
-- Marianne McNeil
Think of all the beauty still left around you and be happy.  -- Anne Frank
