Scenes from the Emerald Isle
This page is dedicated to the memory of my great-grandfather, John S. Cain, who came to the United States from the Emerald Isle as a child; first stopping in S. Carolina, then moving on to Georgia and eventually settling in Texas when my grandmother, Louvenia Elizabeth Cain Jackson, was a child.  John Cain was an Irishman who loved a good time, who could make a fiddle sing . . . and who made my grandmother's blue Irish eyes smile with happy memories of her father until the day she died.
