Where the Heart Is
They say that home is where the heart is and I believe that's so.  You can live
anyplace, for any length of time, but that won't necessarily be the home of your
heart.  I ran across a definition of home I like:  "Home is where you never have to
explain yourself."  That's the way I feel about the city of New Orleans -- it will
always be my heart's home, the only place where I truly feel as if I "belong."
The photos on this page were all taken in my home state of Louisiana.  But,
they are dedicated to you and to your home -- the home of your heart.

Some of the pictures on this page were taken along Louisiana's Great River
Road, some in the Acadiana country of South Louisiana and some in the
city of New Orleans.  There are, also, a few taken elsewhere in the state.
Making your way in the world today takes everything you've got,
Taking a break from all your worries sure would help a lot.
Sometimes you want to go...
Where everybody knows your name,
And they're always glad you came.
You want to be where you can see
People's troubles are all the same.
You want to go where everybody knows your name.

The city of New Orleans is without a doubt my cultural home.  I feel better just
stepping out of a cab from the airport and smelling the heavy musty air.  I respond
to her architecture the way some tourists are stirred by the skyscrapers of New
York or the snow-capped Rockies in Colorado.
